What's the difference between CSE Live & EventFest
Great question. CSE Live is the name of the annual event. It stands for Canadian Special Events Live. EventFest is the trade show/festival portion taking place on April 21
How do I register?
The Register button can found at the top or bottom of every page. You can buy a number of different passes to CSE Live. Pre-registration is required for all events.
What will I find at the Trade Show & Tasting Room and when will it be open?
Every year, CSE Live is designed for a different theme. This year CSE Live is a cross between a high-end music festival like Coachella and a trade show. Expect to find live music, entertainment pop-ups, experience labs, tech demos, unique product displays, one-on-one meeting pods, silent conference zones, a zen lounge and meditation bar, amazing food, the Luxe Gift Bar and so much more. An experiential event means most of the exhibits are interactive with BIG ideas to discover, products to try out and new experiences you can bring back to your event clients. The Tasting Room is where the very best purveyors of event food and drinks will be sampling. The show floor and Tasting Room are open April 21 from 11:00-5:30 p.m. Tickets to the event are free to qualified planners by pre-registration, meaning you must be able to show that you plan events as part of your job. Suppliers pay $59. Planners who do not pre-register pay $25 at the door. Note: There is a conference portion on the morning of April 21, and a paid ticket is required for admission.
I only want to attend one day /one event. Is that possible?
The passes available are for April 20 & 21 or for April 21. You cannot buy a pass for the April 20, the Business of Events Forum on its own.
Are EventFest passes included with Conference Passes?
Yes, any paid ticket to CSE Live will include a ticket to EventFest & the Tasting Room.
Who can attend EventFest for free on April 21 after 11:00 am?
Anyone involved in planning events can purchase a pass to attend. However, only pre-qualified planners may visit from free on April 21, between 11:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. To qualify for a free pass; you need to be involved in planning events for your organization where you have to book venues or hire event resources. You CANNOT be a supplier. That’s super easy to assess, but for those who need more clarity, see below.
WHO CAN ATTEND ON APRIL 21 FROM 11:00 a.m. TO 5:30 p.m. FOR FREE?
Corporate Meeting Planners, Independent Planners, Fundraising Executives, Wedding PlannersSocial Event Planners, Tourism Professionals, Event Planners or Banquet Staff from Hotels or Venues (not sales agents), Event Planners from Catering Firms (not sales agents), Event Designers, Government Meeting Planners• Brand Executives * Ad Agency Creative Teams, Association Executives, Brand Managers, Incentive Planners & DMC’s• • “Accidental Planners” such as Secretaries, Human Resources Staff, and Admin Staff from Corporate or Non-Profits, Schools, Medical Centres and alike organizations., Anyone who is assigned to plan an event or meeting on behalf of their company, organization or client is invited to attend or free with pre-registration.
Who Does Not Qualify for a Free Pass.
If you are a supplier and you supply goods or services to planners, such as flowers, decor, AV, food, gifts, photos, websites, trophies, signs, competing media, communications etc…You are considered a SUPPLIER and the cost is $59. If you need assistance in determining your status, please call us or hit the chatbot below and check. Well, usually answer right away.
Students may only attend if you are registered to volunteer or are part of a pre-registered tour group. We understand the value of this event for students, and we offer many opportunities to get involved, so please register using one of our student options. Please do not register online with an original but false non-functioning business name. Your company must be working with clients to qualify, and registrations will be cancelled and flagged if proven to be false. Thank you for your cooperation.
Do you publish a list of attendees?
No, we do not at any time publish the registration list. You will not be able to obtain a copy, it is a private list.
Are sessions worth CMP and CSEP Points?
Yes, some sessions are worth CMP and CSEP Points, See the session descriptions for details on which ones.
Is there food available for purchase at CSE Live?
The following explains the food and beverages at CSE Live:
April 20: At the Business of Events Forum, light breakfast, coffee, snacks, and lunch are provided. This event requires a ticket
April 20: The Opening Night Party offers light appetizers and a cash bar. This event requires a ticket
April 21: At the Icons & Influencers morning, coffee, snacks, and lunch are provided for those with a paid day pass or a VIP two day pass
April 21: For those attending the SHOW only, food is available for purchase and lots of samples are available in the Tasting Lounge. Day Pass & VIP Pass holders gain early entry
April 21: At the Inspired Spaces event, hot and cold canapes will be served. This event requires a ticket.
April 22: The Canadian Event Industry Awards Gala is a ticketed event and includes dinner with wine. Other beverages can be purchased. The after party always has amazing dessert bars.
Is seating reserved?
Seating is not assigned for any event on April 20/21, they are first come first seating in all meeting rooms and events. The Canadian Event Awards Gala is reserved seating.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel your conference pass in writing before March 1, 2020 and you will receive a refund. Anything canceled after March 1, 2020, will be given full credit for 2021. No other refunds are provided. You may transfer your ticket if you can find a replacement guest.

What’s the dress code at the events?
CSE Live is a casual business conference.
We suggest you wear something comfortable yet smart. We recommend comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking and standing and some of the classes are interactive, such as the silent disco and the app obstacle course.
The only event where cocktail attire is required is the CEIA Gala.
