Carolyn is the proprietor and lead event architect at the highly-awarded Eclectic Events International Inc. She began her career over two decades ago and today possesses an in-depth knowledge and experience in the multi-disciplines of live entertainment/event production, event management and meeting/conference management.

Eclectic is a national events design and production firm specializing in bespoke services including event & program design, décor, entertainment, production while offering the full gamut of turnkey solutions to their corporate, non-profit and association clients including site selection, negotiations, onsite management, registration and more.\

Carolyn is well educated in the field of entertainment, event management and meeting management. In 1995, she received a 2-year diploma in Entertainment Administration from Durham College, Oshawa.  In 1998, she obtained the CSEC (Certified Special Events Coordinator) certification and CSEM in 1999 (Certified Special Events Manager) certification through OTEC. In August 2000, she enrolled in the ISES CSEP program became Canada’s fifth CSEP in January 2001. In her quest to raise the bar in the event and meeting industries, she wrote her CMP exam in July 2001 and became the first Canadian CSEP to also achieve a designation in the discipline of meeting management. She is also a licensed booking agent with the AF of M (American Federation of Musicians of the United  States and Canada) and has worked with many celebrities and recording artists.

She has acted as a mentor and role model to a number of budding event planners for the last twenty years, teaching them not only the tricks of the trade, but the integrity that goes hand in hand with them and encouraging them to further their education in the field of event management. She does this through her position as a professor, at the workplace and through being a trained evaluator and public speaker.

Carolyn has been a college instructor teaching the event and meeting management profession for twenty years at George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. Aside from being a core instructor, Carolyn is also a curriculum advisor and content developer for the (EMM) Event & Meeting Management Certificate program created for the college by top meeting and event industry professionals.
