Jody Paulson

Jody is a seasoned event professional with over 30 years of experience in planning, managing, and executing events of all sizes — from intimate gatherings to large-scale productions of up to 2,000 attendees. Her portfolio includes notable projects such as the University of Alberta’s Centennial celebrations and Athabasca University’s 50th anniversary in 2019. Currently, Jody is an instructor and curriculum reviewer for the Event Management Certificate Program at Mount Royal University Continuing Education. Her work on Athabasca University’s Convocation in 2022 and 2023 earned multiple awards, showcasing her commitment to excellence. Jody holds the prestigious Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) designation, along with certifications in course design and adult continuing education. In 2021, she developed and delivered the CSEP Prep Course pilot project for ILEA, providing online training to students around the globe. A dedicated member of the International Live Events Association (ILEA), Jody has held various leadership roles, including two terms as President of the ILEA Edmonton Chapter and Chair of the International CSEP Certification Committee. She currently serves as Chair for ILEA Canada. Jody is passionate about events, lifelong learning, and storytelling — and she loves sharing that passion with others.
